Hi Everyone, it’s Kristy from Clearly Legal.

I wanted to talk with you today about being tech savvy in the legal industry — the computer programs and technology I know how to use, how my proficiency with them can save you time and reduce errors, and how my proficiency can save you money. With my Microsoft Office skills and more.

Mastering Legal Accounting and Client Management Software

In the legal world, efficient accounting and client management are crucial for smooth operations. Over the years, I have developed hands-on experience with several industry-standard programs, including:

  • PC Law

  • CosmoLex

  • Clio

  • Soluno

Some of these are cloud-based, allowing me to seamlessly integrate into your existing management systems - whether you also work cloud-based and remotely or you have an office. My familiarity with these tools means I can quickly get up to speed with your specific firm protocols and workflow, reducing onboarding time and errors.

Seamless Video Communication for Modern Legal Collaboration

Remote meetings have become a staple in legal work. I am proficient in using:

  • Zoom

  • Microsoft Teams

  • Google Meet

Whether it is a client consultation, a team meeting, or a court appearance via video, I am comfortable navigating these platforms to ensure clear, professional communication.

Expert Handling of PDFs — Essential for Litigation

When dealing with litigation, PDF documents are everywhere. I am skilled with:

  • Adobe Acrobat Pro — for editing, bookmarking, hyperlinking, and preparing court-ready documents

  • Zibbet — a tool for behind-the-scenes drafting and preparation to compile PDFs

This expertise helps me produce precise, high-quality filings and document briefs, avoiding the issues that can cause delays, rejections, and court reprimands.

Efficient Document Sharing and Collaboration

File sharing is vital for collaboration, especially when working remotely or across teams. I regularly use:

  • Google Drive

  • SharePoint

  • Dropbox

  • Clio for Client and Clio for Counsel

These platforms enable my clients and me to share files securely, track versions, and collaborate in real time. My experience with these tools means smooth workflows and no lost files or confusion.

Creative and Administrative Tools I Use

Beyond legal-specific software, I am also proficient in tools that support promotional materials and administrative tasks:

  • Canva — I can create promotional graphics, stamps, and other interactive content.

  • Social Media Reels, Posts, and Stories - I can circulate, upload, create, and manage the content created in Canva, via screenshots, teleprompters, and my ideas (create a story function).

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint — For drafting documents, managing spreadsheets, and preparing presentations with accuracy and polish.

Why This Matters for You

These are not just names of computer programs that I have heard of — these are programs I know intimately and use daily to make legal work more efficient and effective; yes, this includes the JSO One-Key and Caselines / Case Centre. When you work with me, you are not only getting years of legal knowledge, you are also getting a tech-savvy law clerk, colleague, collaborator, and partner who can optimize your workflows and reduce time spent on tech troubleshooting or software learning curves.
